Boy's qualify for C.I.F. FINALS!

For the first time since 2005, the boy’s will run in the C.I.F. Championships and compete for the school’s first ever State berth! The team placed 2nd in their heat behind top ranked Royal but finished ahead of all too familiar foe El Toro and Long Beach Poly. The C.I.F. Championship has 16 teams with the top 7 teams moving on to the State Championships in Fresno, CA. Boy's finish 11th at C.I.F. Finals

The boy's remarkable season came to an end at the C.I.F. Finals held at Mt. Sac College. The team finished 11th with 250 points which was 61 points behind the 7th place team, El Toro, who finished with 189 points. Karl Baranov led all Viking runners with his 15:22 performance which was also 1 second out of qualifying as an individual to the state meet. Baranov was followed by freshman Richie Soto (15:41, 34th), Ryan Shota (16:14, 73rd), Karl Wenberg (16:16, 75th), Jason VanHamersveld (16:26, 86th), Robert Oliver (16:46, 103rd), and Sven Sianez (17:34, 118th). Boy's gear up for C.I.F. Prelims; Ranked 9th in C.I.F. Southern Section

The Boy’s team will race this Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. They will be the first race of the day to officially kick of the cross country “Road to State”. The gun is set to go off at 745am with the boys seeded 3rd in their heat. Top ranked Royal (Simi Valley) and #2 El Toro are the two teams ranked ahead. The final spot will be a battle between ML King (Riverside) and Long Beach Poly. The top four (4) teams in each of the four heats will automatically qualify for the C.I.F. Finals race which is 16 teams. From there, the top seven (7) teams will move on to the STATE MEET. A bus will be meeting at Marina for any athletes who are cleared and want to come support! It will be returning at approx. 945am.

Varsity Boy's win Sunset League Title!!

For the first time since 2004, the Varsity Boy’s dominated their race placing five scorers in the top 9 runners! The boy’s point total of 31 was the lowest in a Boy’s Varsity Sunset League Finals Race in over a decade!

Sunset league finals this Saturday!

Most of the team will conclude their season this Saturday at the Sunset League Finals which is set to begin at 9am. The day will start with both varsity races with the girl’s racing at 9am and the boy’s at 9:30am. The girl’s will battle for a post season berth while the boy’s face Esperanza yet again for the league championship!

Girl's 6th in Division 1 Race; Boy's 12th in Championship Race at Clovis!

Fourteen girls and thirteen boys made the trip to Fresno this past weekend to race on the 2009 State Championships Course. Held at Woodward Park, the Clovis Invitational and State Championships have been run there for decades. The meet featured a combined 42 state ranked teams! more info »
